The AS9100 standard underwent a major revision in 2016 in order to ensure adherence to the changing ISO 9001 standard. Released in second quarter of 2016, the AS9100:2016 standard is another step forward for the aircraft and aerospace industries in improving quality, timeliness, and safety.

The latest revision in terms of the well-known, standardized quality measurement system for aerospace, known as AS9100, the latest standard, revision D was due to be released in April of 2014. However, it was not released until October of 2016.
